This program, funded by Michigan’s coronavirus relief dollars, will make sure low-income households have hot and cold water, at least one working toilet, a shower, a kitchen faucet and a laundry tub. Interior, exterior, well and septic plumbing work are covered as well.

This past weekend, GCCARD partnered with Catholic Charities and many local service providers to connect individuals and families who may be facing or who are experiencing homelessness.

We were able to give away things like food, clothing, face masks, information on housing aid, social services and much more. This is what community action partnership is all about.

Thank you Commissioner Ellen Ellenburg and Commissioner Elect Meredith Davis for stopping by and helping GCCARD staff!

GCCARD’s 27th Annual Walk for Warmth was amazing this year!! From the Mott Middle/Boys and Girls Club Steel Drum band to our spoken word piece performed by our very own Yashira Jenkins and the performance by our Alpha Esquires...they were all great! We promoted awareness for individuals facing heat-related emergencies throughout our community by walking from Saginaw/University Ave. to Nolen Dr. early this morning. The breakfast bar was great and everyone had a great time and got great information from our vendors/sponsors. If anyone has pictures please send them to me. Thanks to everyone that came out or donated and if you didn’t make it out this year we hope to see you next year 😊
