Shout out to the awesome team at Wings Airways/Taku Glacier Lodge for welcoming some of our younger canines
aboard their deadhead flights for the purpose of familiarization with flying in small aircraft.
In the course of our search and rescue responses we can be transported around Alaska via all means of transportation. We appreciate opportunities for early training  exposures.

Karen Royce with Sitka SAR organized and hosted a weekend seminar for canine search teams across Alaska. Teams from Kodiak, Fairbanks PAWS Search & Rescue,
Anchorage Alaska Search and Rescue Dogs - ASARD, Wrangell Wrangell Volunteer Fire Department, Juneau Seadogs K9 Search and Rescue, and Sitka SAR participated in a mock mission, training sessions for water search, scent-specific trailing, area air scent, and breakout sessions for canine decontamination for disaster responses and canine first aid.

DOG DAYS – Marcy Larson with Juneau's Southeast Alaska Dogs Organized for Ground Search (SEADOGS), holding leash at right, arrives in Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport this morning with Tika, one of twenty dogs and 30 people in town for this weekend's Alaska Training Conference. Dogs from K-9 teams around Alaska will train in Sitka Saturday and Sunday for interior, exterior and water search and rescue. Our team was fortunate to host Eric Rosenberg of WA State SAR Planning Unit for a search planner’s training and map app assignments with field scenarios. Thanks for another great learning experience, Eric! 🗺️🐾
And thanks very much to the volunteers who gave a Saturday afternoon to spend in the cold windy rain to lay tracks and hide for the search teams! 👏♥️

K9s Bizzy, Wren, Tilli, Jinx, Minto, and Kip had a good Workout at Home Depot area with Area searches, Scent-specific trailing, and HRD problems. Good work!
