Congratulations Akuwa!

✨Our First Black History Month Feature Friday honoree is Akuwa Dantzler, who began her career with the City of Milwaukee in 2008 as the Legislative Assistant to Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs. Ms. Dantzler has the honor of serving the residents of the 6th District and working behind the scenes to act as an aldermanic liaison to City departments, community groups, other agencies and other levels of government. Ms. Dantzler has worked effectively to execute Ald. Coggs's vision of meaningful events, including Girls’ Day at City Hall, which shows students career paths in public service and leadership roles, MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit, which supports the growth of local entrepreneurship and helps innovators stimulate economic development, neighborhood reinvestment and job creation and Bronzeville Week, which celebrates Milwaukee’s rich African American legacy of culture, arts, history and entertainment.

Ms. Dantzler’s dedication to the City of Milwaukee didn’t stop in 2015 when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and had to undergo surgery. Throughout this time, Ms. Dantzler provided faithful support to the residents of the 6th District. Now cancer free, Ms. Dantzler remains committed to serving the people to the best of her abilities.

We admire and appreciate Ms. Dantzler's unwavering support and assistance to residents!
