WE WORK WITH SUPERHEROS! Thank you for all the hard work you do, each and every day!
✨To learn about today’s Saturday Superheroes, we turned to Christa Bonds, Administrative Services Supervisor for Residential Code Enforcement for the Department of Neighborhood Services (DNS).
According to Bonds, “DNS Lake Tower has three Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) who have been hard at work as essential workers. I am very proud of their commitment to excellence and their continuing to report to the office daily amidst the pandemic.” During the month of August, there were 4,327 calls that came in to the general DNS inquiry line. The vast majority of those calls were answered by those three CSRs, with some assistance from other DNS administrative staff. Many of those calls were in reference to Solid Waste Violations (SWVs), which are orders to clean properties, that property owners and residents receive, as well as tenants calling seeking assistance with possible code violations. They also process the back end work needed for Solid Waste Violations; in the month of August alone, they processed 1,496 SWVs.
The Residential section also processes all the animal complaints, such as dogs-at-large, possible animal neglect, and bat and dog bites. In addition, they handle all of the animal permits, including Animal Fancier permits, beekeeping permits, and chicken keeping permits. Interestingly, after the start of the pandemic, DNS saw an increase in the number of chicken keeping permits issued.
Thank you, DNS Residential Code Enforcement CSRs, for your commitment to customer service excellence and to ensuring the safety and health of City of Milwaukee neighborhoods!

We love hanging out at Fiserv Forum to watch the Milwaukee Bucks and at Miller Park to watch the Milwaukee Brewers - but we so excited that now we can go to these places to #VOTE! 🗳🏀🗳⚾️🗳
We are now fortunate to announce that not only have we found one, but we have found two locations that are absolutely fabulous for allowing more people to exercise their right to vote.
Nationally, Milwaukee has become the leader by providing both Fiserv Forum and Miller Park for early voting. I don’t know of another city in this nation that is using a major league ballpark and an NBA arena for early voting— that’s how committed we are to making sure that people’s voices are heard.
The Fiserv Forum will be used for in-person early voting October 20 - November 1. The location will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday - Friday and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Miller Park will provide safe and efficient drive through early voting, and the dates and hours of operation will be announced at a later date.
The Development Center has implemented new submittal requirements and review processes for plumbing & gas piping plans in response to staffing vacancies in the Plumbing Plan Examination section.
