Thrilled to celebrate the dedication of Old Dominion University’s new Health Sciences Building, now home to the Ellmer College of Health Sciences!
Thanks to the generosity of Dennis and Jan Ellmer, this facility is set to revolutionize healthcare education and research in our region. The building features cutting-edge laboratories, simulation centers, and specialized clinics where students can engage in hands-on learning. These resources are essential for training the next generation of healthcare professionals, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the demands of modern healthcare.
In July, Old Dominion University and Eastern Virginia Medical School merged to form Virginia’s largest academic health sciences center. This union brings together ODU’s strong educational programs and EVMS’s expertise in clinical care and research, creating a comprehensive environment where education, research, and patient care intersect.
This is a proud day for Norfolk and the Commonwealth, as we embark on a new chapter in healthcare education and practice. Go Monarchs!
