Seattle is a city for families, small business owners, and everyday people. We want to make sure it stays that way. 🏙️✨

Our Director Beto and Mayor Katie B. Wilson announced a new Executive Order to create the Resilient Seattle Economy Task Force. This group will create strategies that make it easier for businesses to work with the City and help keep Seattle affordable.

Over the last ten years, Seattle has changed a lot. Through it all, our community has helped shape the decisions that define this city. Our goal is simple: help more families and businesses stay and thrive in Seattle. 💙

🍪✨ Something special is baking at Anh Ơi Bake Shop, a Vietnamese American bakery where founder Vince Vu transforms his childhood memories and flavors into every bite.

Inspired by its value of "we rise together," Anh Ơi also spotlights local Asian American bakers, giving their work a wider audience through a collaborative approach where makers grow by supporting one another.

Through Seattle Restored, Vince is building something lasting. More than a bakery, Anh Ơi is a gathering place where community, culture, and belonging come together. Every product tells a story, connecting customers to the people and traditions behind what they eat, offering a home for the third culture, the cross-cultural, and the quietly homesick. 🏠❤️

Located in the heart of Japantown in the Chinatown-International District, their bakes are worth every crumb. 😋

🎥 Get a behind the scenes looks at “I Am American,” a feature film shot in Seattle and Washington state this summer!

Filmed in Seattle locations like the Chinatown-International District and South Lake Union Park, “I Am American” tells the story of an ambitious Japanese immigrant whose family had everything taken from them when they were forcibly sent to concentration camps.

The production hired 100 local cast and crew, many with direct generational ties to those who endured internment camps.

Our Film Program is designed to bring important stories like “I Am American” to life, offering experienced crews, diverse and stunning locations, and a streamlined permitting process that makes Seattle a great place to film.

“I Am American” is scheduled to wrap production later this summer, with festival screenings planned for 2027. 🎬🍿

We’re thrilled to award nearly $1.3 million to 43 local businesses through the 2026 Tenant Improvement Program!🎉

Our program is investing in equipment and signage upgrades across 23 neighborhoods so that more local businesses can stabilize, grow, and keep showing up for their communities. From a 100-year-old café in Ballard to the only Kenyan restaurant in Seattle, these establishments are part of what make our city shine.

Get your print on at Paper Pushers! 📗🎨

Paper Pushers (Paper Pushers Zine Store by Seattle Printers Guild) is a pop-up consignment shop and printmaking art space by Seattle Printers Guild. The Downtown spot features zines and prints from artists all over the world, plus opportunities to create your own.

Express yourself by attending one of their free art workshops or connect with other creatives at a community event. 🤗✨

Paper Pushers is a space “where people can make cool zines and art books in a large space,” said co-founder Vivian Li, “which is sometimes hard to find in Seattle.”

In partnership with Seattle Restored, they took their vision from paper to reality. Check them out now through September 15.

It’s Christmas in July! 🎄

The independent feature film “Christmas Pop-Up” is a love letter to Seattle. Written, directed, and filmed almost entirely by locals, this independent feature brings the magic of the Emerald City to the big screen.

With 51 local cast and crew members and iconic locations like Smith Tower and Occidental Park, this rom-com is proof you don’t need to leave the Emerald City to make movie magic. 🎥🎬
