Today, on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor the heroes who endured captivity, remember those who remain missing, and stand with the families who have spent decades searching for answers.

We will never forget those who sacrificed everything in defense of our freedoms.

This morning, I spoke at the Concerned Women For America LAC Summit about my bill, the Chloe Cole Act, and why this legislation needs to become law. I will continue fighting for Chloe and other victims across the country because there is NOTHING more critical than protecting vulnerable minors and giving them meaningful access to justice to push back against the harmful result of these irreversible, life-altering medical decisions.

Children deserve to grow up free from those who would subject them to these barbaric treatments. These so called doctors must be held accountable for the lasting harm caused to children and families.

As a physician, I know that when a health plan approves treatment, doctors and patients need to be able to rely on that decision. Reaching back months later to claw back payment for care that was already approved undermines certainty and makes it harder for physicians to keep seeing their patients.

The Protecting Approved Care Act ensures that when a Medicare Advantage plan approves care, that approval holds. I am glad to work with Rep. Greg Landsman on this bipartisan effort!

Taxpayers should never be forced to subsidize health plans that cover the elective killing of an unborn child. Yet, a recent GAO report confirms that more than a quarter of taxpayer-funded Obamacare exchange plans subsidize elective abortions prohibited under the Hyde Amendment, with about 4.4 million Americans currently covered by these plans.

For nearly 50 years, the Hyde Amendment has saved nearly 2.7 million unborn children, underscoring the importance of this vital safeguard. As Co-Chair of the House Pro-Life Caucus and a father committed to protecting the rights of both the born and unborn, I believe we have a moral and civic duty to do just that.

I am proud to join Congressman Chris Smith and my pro-life colleagues in sending a letter to President Donald J. Trump calling for real protections against forced taxpayer funding of abortion.

It was an honor to speak at the American Association of Christian Schools National Legislative Conference and stand alongside leaders from across the country who share a commitment to protecting religious liberty, expanding educational opportunities, and protecting our children.

I was also grateful for the opportunity to discuss my bill, the Chloe Cole Act, and the importance of giving victims and their families a private right of action to seek justice and hold those who harmed them accountable.

Today, House Judiciary Committee GOP held two hearings focused on critical issues facing our country.

First, I pressed witnesses on the consequences of sanctuary policies and the importance of local law enforcement communicating and cooperating with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to keep our communities safe.

Later, I questioned witnesses on the importance of restoring confidence in our elections and ensuring every American’s vote is protected.

These are two different issues, but both come down to a fundamental responsibility: enforcing our laws and protecting the rights of the people we serve.

The ACSI USA Summit is an important opportunity for educational leaders to gain practical insight and engage in meaningful dialogue with others committed to protecting religious freedom and defending our values.

It was a privilege to take part in this year’s Summit and discuss some of the most pressing issues facing Christian schools, families, and faith-based institutions. I spoke about my bill, the Chloe Cole Act, and the devastating consequences that can result when we fail to protect vulnerable children.

Twenty-five years ago, our nation was forever changed. On September 11, 2001, 2,977 innocent lives were taken in an act of unimaginable evil.

Today, we remember the families who endured devastating loss, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the American flags that flew across communities throughout our country, reflecting the patriotism and unity of a nation standing together in the face of evil.

A quarter-century later, America still remembers. We will never forget.
