As part of our commitment to transparency, we are rolling out this police log to give our community a clearer look at the important work your officers do every day. This is a synopsis/highlight of calls for service and enforcement action, and does not include every single call for service our officers had - we’d be here a while if that were the case.

While we aim to provide meaningful updates, we also have a responsibility to protect the privacy and dignity of victims and those involved in sensitive calls for service. We also have a duty to preserve the integrity of ongoing investigations. For those reasons, some details may be limited and comments on these posts will be restricted.

🗓️ August 14, 2026 – 9:34 AM
🚔 A caller reported witnessing a vehicle back into another car while at one of the gas stations in town, and that the driver appeared intoxicated. When Corporal Meghan Leedberg arrived to investigate, she noted evidence that the driver was impaired from alcohol. Robin Bridges (64-year-old of York) was subsequently arrested for Operating Under the Influence with 2 Priors.

🗓️ August 15, 2026 – 1:42 AM
🚗 Officer Shawn Donovan noticed a vehicle traveling very slowly, then turning into a residential neighborhood using the wrong entrance. Officer Donovan stopped the vehicle and realized that the driver could be impaired by alcohol. After an investigation, Analessa Penton (27-year-old of Oxford, ME) was arrested for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol.

🗓️ August 15, 2026 – 11:00 AM
🎉 Several of our officers assisted with the York Firemen’s Parade and Muster by guiding the parade, providing traffic support, monitoring the event, and mingling with the crowd. This is always a great event for families, and we are always happy to support and attend!
🗓️ August 16, 2026 – 1:03 AM

🚨 Corporal Rance Mills stopped a vehicle for driving over 100 mph on Route 1. The driver was a juvenile with several juvenile passengers. The driver was arrested for Criminal Speed, and the parents of all the juveniles involved were contacted.

🗓️ August 19, 2026 – 6:08 PM
👮 Our police department was notified by a neighboring agency that they believed an individual with a warrant for a protective order violation was in our town. Our officers responded to the address in York and arrested David Blake (47-year-old of York) on the warrant. Blake was transported to the York County Jail by our officers.

Violations of Protection From Abuse Orders are not eligible for bail; therefore, the arrestee must be brought to the nearest jail facility to appear before a judge.

🗓️ August 20, 2026 – 3:41 PM
🔎 While observing traffic, Sgt. Jon Rogers checked the registration plate of a vehicle on his mobile laptop. Sgt. Rogers was alerted that there was an arrest warrant out for the registered owner of the vehicle. Sgt. Rogers made contact with the driver as he pulled into a nearby business and confirmed that the driver was the registered owner of the vehicle. Shawn Hall (45-year-old of South Berwick, ME) was arrested on the warrant for Forgery charges out of New Hampshire. Hall was transported to the York County Jail, where he would then be extradited to New Hampshire to appear for the charges.

🚔 Officer Thomas Nolan conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing it having difficulty maintaining its lane. After a roadside investigation, Benjamin Stirk (43-year-old of York) was arrested for Operating Under the Influence.

🗓️ August 22, 2026 – 1:14 AM
🚗 Officer Shawn Donovan stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane and drifting over the centerline several times. After stopping the vehicle and conducting an investigation, Douglas Cooney (23-year-old of Oxford, MA) was arrested for Operating Under the Influence.

🗓️ August 22, 2026 – 6:26 PM
🚔 Officer Thomas Nolan conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing it driving erratically. After a roadside investigation, Sallie Poirier (62-year-old of Leominster, MA) was arrested for Operating Under the Influence.

🗓️ August 23, 2026 – 6:50 PM
🚨 Officer Shawn Donovan responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed into a telephone pole. Officer Donovan’s investigation of the crash resulted in the arrest of the driver, Wiliam Chartrand (62-year-old of York), for Operating Under the Influence.

🗓️ August 24, 2026 – 10:00 AM
🔍 Officer Kevin Marrie came across a vehicle and discovered that the registered owner, Cy Perkins, (49-year-old of York) had a suspended license. Officer Marrie also discovered that Perkins was on bail conditions that stipulated he could be searched at any time. Officer Marrie made contact with Perkins at his home and conducted a search of his vehicle and bedroom pursuant to the conditions of his bail. Officer Marrie located co***ne and paraphernalia in Perkins’ bedroom, and Perkins was subsequently charged with Violating Conditions of Release.

🚔 Officer Michael Valeri conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing it driving erratically. After a roadside investigation, Case Marino (22-year-old of Kittery, ME) was arrested for Operating Under the Influence.

🗓️ August 25, 2026 – 1:03 PM
👮 Officer Kevin Marrie, Corporal Rance Mills, and Sgt. Brian McNeice responded to a report of an argument. After investigating what occurred, Emerald Brown (34-year-old of Lebanon, ME) was arrested for Violating Conditions of Release and transported to the York County Jail.

🗓️ August 25, 2026 – 6:13 PM
🚤 Officer Brady Quinn, Officer Thomas Orlando, Sgt. Jonathan Rogers, and Harbor Master Forrest Brenske responded to a report of a male subject trespassing at the Nubble Lighthouse. It was reported that the male subject was naked, had a golf club with him, damaged part of the lighthouse, and was dancing around the island. Our officers responded in the Harbor Master boat and took the male subject into custody without issue. It should be noted that this same male had been asked to leave several establishments around town for disruptive behavior recently, but had not risen to the level of being criminal. On this occasion at the Nubble, officers had reason to transport him to an area hospital for mental health treatment.

🚨 Sgt. Jonathan Rogers, Officer Brady Quinn, and Officer Michael Valeri responded to one of our local gas stations for a report of a suspect who stole from the business and threatened to get his gun. Officers apprehended Kyle Trenholm (25-year-old of York) without incident, and he was arrested for Criminal Threatening, Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, and Criminal Trespass.

🗓️ July 25, 2026 – 6:26 PM
🔹 Loss Prevention at Hannaford contacted our police department to report that they had caught someone attempting to shoplift and wished to have the person criminally charged. Danielle Costella (38-year-old of Auburn, MA) was summonsed for Theft by Unauthorized Taking.

🗓️ July 25, 2026 – 9:23 PM
🚔 Officer Thomas Nolan stopped a vehicle for a vehicle defect, and when he spoke with the driver, he observed evidence that the driver could be impaired by alcohol. After a roadside investigation, Brian Tartarini (28-year-old of Middlesex, MA) was arrested for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol.

🗓️ July 30, 2026 – 7:15 PM
🏠 Our Communications Center received a call from a resident who stated that a vehicle drove into his driveway and simply stayed there with the driver still in it. When the homeowner went outside to check on the vehicle, the driver pulled away, almost hit the person, then parked along the road and put its hazards on. Officer Brady Quinn arrived and made contact with the driver, and immediately observed evidence of alcohol or drug impairment. After an investigation, Jessica Douglass (41-year-old of Seabrook, NH) was arrested for Operating Under the Influence and Unlawful Possession of a Scheduled Drug.

🗓️ July 31, 2026 – 1:22 AM
🚗 Officer Cameron Hutchins stopped a vehicle for having a suspended registration. After speaking with the driver, Oraine Burchell (37-year-old of York) was summonsed for Operating with a Suspended Registration and Violating Conditions of Release.

🗓️ July 31, 2026 – 6:03 PM
🚨 Sgt. Benjamin Ogden and Officer David McKinnon responded to a call from a concerned citizen about a car on the side of the road and a male subject walking away from it with a bloody face. When the officers arrived, the operator had left the area. Officers investigated the situation and made contact with the driver, Benjamin Klosowski (29-year-old of Kittery, ME). Klosowski was subsequently charged with Attaching False Plates and Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident.

🗓️ August 2, 2026 – 7:03 AM
🚙 While Officer Kyle Whelan was on patrol, he came across an abandoned vehicle that had slid off into a ditch on the side of the road. Officer Whelan investigated the situation and ultimately charged the driver, Jared Locke (26-year-old of Paxton, MA), with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident.

🗓️ August 3, 2026 – 8:54 PM
🚔 Officer Shawn Donovan, Officer Kyle Whelan, and Sgt. Ben Ogden responded to a domestic disturbance after a 911 call was received by our Communications Center. The 911 call was unclear as to what exactly occurred, but it was evident to Dispatchers Nathaniel Higgins and Patrick Moulton that a fight was ongoing. Our officers responded, ensured everyone’s safety, and made sure everyone involved was offered the appropriate medical attention. After they investigated what had happened, Erick Matos (26-year-old of Worcester, MA) was arrested for Assault.

🗓️ August 3, 2026 – 9:07 PM
🚔 Our Communications Center received a complaint of a pickup truck that was all over the road, then received a second complaint immediately after the first call that the truck had struck another vehicle and left the scene. Officer Brady Quinn responded to the area, and the Ogunquit Police Department assisted in looking for the vehicle that fled the scene. Ogunquit PD located the vehicle in their town, and Officer Quinn went there to meet with the driver. Officer Quinn conducted an OUI investigation and ultimately placed Bruce Roy (59-year-old of Ogunquit) under arrest for Operating Under the Influence.

🗓️ August 4, 2026 – 5:00 PM
🎉 Our National Night Out was a huge success! Our department, along with the York Fire Departments and York Ambulance Service, welcomed residents and visitors to Bog Road Fields for a night of good food, games, first responder vehicles and displays, and good times! Thank you all for attending and helping make this event possible.

🗓️ August 8, 2026 – 12:19 AM
🏎️ Officer Shawn Donovan stopped two vehicles traveling at high rates of speed together. The officer determined that one of the vehicles was traveling 84 mph in a 40 mph zone. The driver, Leo Maldonado (18-year-old of York), was summonsed for Criminal Speed and Driving to Endanger. Criminal Speed is a Class E misdemeanor applied to speeds in excess of 30 mph over the speed limit. The other driver was cited for speeding, which was not at the level of Criminal Speed.

🗓️ August 10, 2026 – 4:16 PM
🚔 Sgt. Brian McNeice stopped a vehicle for having a rear tail light out. Upon making contact with the driver, Sgt. McNeice observed that the driver had an open beer can next to him. Sgt. McNeice investigated whether the driver was impaired and found him not to be. The driver, Ryan Sirois (34-year-old of Kittery, ME), was summonsed for Operating Without a License and Drinking in a Motor Vehicle.

🗓️ August 11, 2026 – 10:15 AM
👮 An individual requested that an officer stand by while they moved things out of a home. While Officer Michael Szilagyi was on scene, he made contact with Jessica Stevens (37-year-old of York), who had a warrant for her arrest for Failure to Appear for a Court Date. Stevens was placed under arrest on the warrant.

🗓️ August 13, 2026 – 3:38 PM
🎨 Officers responded to a report of a female spray-painting the sign of one of the churches in town. Officers located the individual, and Merry Lee Conway (58-year-old of Durango, CO) was charged with Criminal Mischief. Officers also located the sign, which had been removed, spray-painted, and thrown away from the property.

🗓️ August 13, 2026 – 4:33 PM
👮 Joshua Elliott (30-year-old of Rochester, NH) arrived at the station to turn himself in on an arrest warrant. Elliott was arrested at the station on the warrant and went through the booking process without issue.

The York Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for a Full-Time Communications Specialist (9-1-1 Dispatcher)!

Our Communications Specialists work as part of a team in our Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), answering emergency 9-1-1 calls for seven area communities. The York Communications Center also manages non-emergency calls and dispatches for police, fire, and EMS services for the Town of York.

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!

Congratulations to Lydia Tanner for winning our Major Patch Contest! It was a close vote, but Lydia’s design came out on top! Our favorite touch on this design was the hidden crab above the J 😁 Lydia’s patch will be made by and worn by Major on his vest! Lydia will also get an exclusive visit to our station to spend time with Major and get a tour of our building/cruisers!

All of our top 5 finalists will receive a Major swag bag, complete with all of the patches we have made for Major, his baseball cards, and his challenge coin.
