At the EDMO Capacity Building and DAMC Conference in Tsirang today, the EDMOs and the Aggregator Network members from the 8 Dzongkhags have met with four Agribusiness Entrepreneurs, one being the Chairman of AGN Chhukha.
All four shared their firsthand experiences, success stories, challenges, and lessons learned, providing participants with practical insights into the realities of agricultural marketing and entrepreneurship.

The session highlighted that Bhutanโs key challenge is not only production but also commercialization, turning good products into consistent, market-ready, and export-ready products. The discussion emphasized strengthening quality, packaging, certification, branding, logistics, market intelligence, and buyer linkages, while moving from product showcasing towards market pe*******on and repeat commercial orders.

Sharing his export experience, Bidyash highlighted the importance of mindset, product readiness, market research, and export preparedness. Singapore was identified as an attractive market, while challenges included quality and packaging, competition, building trust, and maintaining consistency. The experience also highlighted the value of Bhutanese identity, sustainability, storytelling, and strong branding in international markets.

Aum Tshewang of Tshejor Ezay shared the journey of Tshejor Ezay, a Bhutanese food-processing enterprise producing traditional condiments and Ezays using locally sourced ingredients. The enterpriseโs linkages with farmers across Bhutan and markets in Australia, the USA, Canada, the Middle East, and Bhutan shows the potential of value addition, local sourcing, and strong buyer linkages to promote Bhutanese products.

The session on Aggregator Networks (AGN), led by Tshering Dorji, Chairman, AGN Chhukha, further provided practical insights into aggregation, market access, and supply-chain challenges, with aggregator network members also joining online to share their experiences.
Significant at the Session was also the presence of more than 50 members of Aggregator Networks from 8 Dzongkhags across the country. It showed that this process innovation in agricultural marketing, called Aggregator Networks (AGN), indeed is taking its shape and is playing a crucial role to enhance the agricultural marketing ecosystem in the country.
