Namibia Receives Continental Recognition for Progress in Distributed Generation of Electricity

The Electricity Control Board is proud to announce that Namibia has been recognised during the GET.transform Distributed Generation Programme in South Africa for its progress in Distributed Generation and Net Metering.

Distributed Generation refers to electricity generated close to where it is used, such as solar power from homes, businesses, and farms.

The recognition highlights Namibia's strong regulatory framework and successful support of small-scale renewable electricity generation. It strengthens investor confidence, supports energy security, and promotes renewable energy growth.

The ECB remains committed to building a sustainable energy future for Namibia.
