Namibia's Embedded Generation Online Application Platform is now live!

The ECB has launched a new digital platform that makes it faster, more transparent and more predictable for households, businesses and independent power producers to apply for, track and connect embedded generation systems to the national grid.

We thank our partners, including the European Union, GIZ, GET.transform, Sustainable Energy Africa, AFUR and APUA, and acknowledge the hard work of ECB, NamPower and Regional Electricity Distributor teams in making this achievement possible.

Big day at the ECB Board Room today! Colleagues from across the Electricity Supply Industry came together for hands-on training ahead of tomorrow's launch of our new Online Platform for Small-Scale Embedded Generation (SSEG) applications.

From learning the platform's features to getting utilities set up and ready to go, today was all about making sure our partners are equipped and confident from day one.

The wait is almost over. Tomorrow, 1 September 2026, the Embedded Generation Application Platform officially goes live.

The online platform will enable the submission of embedded generation applications below 500 kVA, making the application process more accessible and convenient.

Follow the launch live on our page and be part of this exciting step towards a more connected and sustainable energy future for Namibia.
