Hire A Vet Campaign - Maine

Hire A Vet Campaign - Maine 100 Days, 100+ Employers, 100+ Veterans Hired Calling all Employers! Hiring a veteran is the right thing to do and it’s good business!

As the Maine economy continues to grow with business expansion, the rebounding real estate market and relatively low unemployment, we still have way too many qualified military veterans unemployed or underutilized. Every one of these men and women have willingly made great personal sacrifice so that we may enjoy our freedom, prosperity, families and peace in our great nation and here in Maine! Vet

erans Inc., Hero2Hired, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, and The Department of Labor along with numerous partner agencies and I invite you to become a participating employer in “Maine’s Hire A Vet” campaign kick-off on Labor Day, September 5, 2016. Our goal is to engage a minimum of 100 employers to hire 100-plus veterans in 100 days. As you know, veterans possess unique skills and abilities that are essential to effective organizations. Their inherent drive for job accomplishment, leadership and survival skills bring highly desired qualities that set the tone for an environment of a highly successful workplace. To join the campaign, please contact Campaign Coordinator, Steve Roy, at [email protected]. In addition, our veterans’ employment staff throughout the state will work with you to find the appropriate fit(s) for your vacancy or vacancies. We can also assist you in translating military skills, language, culture, assimilation and retention. Participating employers will be recognized for their participation in the hiring and advancement of our local veterans. We sincerely hope that you will support us in this effort to honor our friends and neighbors who so unselfishly served our nation! We hope to hear from you soon!
