One of the best parts of NeighborWorks Week is reflecting on what’s possible when a community comes together.

NeighborWorks Week is here, and throughout the next several days we’ll be highlighting the people, programs, events, and partnerships helping strengthen our communities here in Dover and across Delmarva.

From affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization to youth programs, wellness events, workforce development, and community spaces, this work only happens because neighbors continue showing up for one another.

Memorial Day is a reminder that behind every holiday weekend is remembrance.

Today we honor those who lost their lives in service, and we hold space for the families, friends, and communities who continue to carry that loss. Wishing everyone a safe and peaceful Memorial Day.

NeighborGood Partners recently had the opportunity to host a Legislative Luncheon at Legislative Hall to share more about the Laurel Glen project and the growing need for affordable housing in Sussex County. We’re incredibly thankful to the legislators, community members, and supporters who stopped by, asked questions, and took the time to hear about the impact this project could have on families in the Sussex County.

Laurel Glen represents more than just housing. It’s a chance to create stable, affordable homes for working individuals and families while continuing to strengthen communities across Delaware. We’re feeling hopeful and encouraged as we continue working to secure the support needed to help bring this project home. Thank you to everyone who came out to Raise the Roof and helped make the evening such a success. We don’t have the official final numbers just yet, but we can already say how incredibly grateful we are for this community.

Every dollar raised from this year’s event is going directly to support The Scoop on Loockerman and the youth workforce development opportunities it provides right here in our community.
