🌀 HURRICANE LOWELL UPDATE

Hurricane Lowell strengthened this morning into a powerful Category 4 hurricane, maintaining 150 mph winds with its center about 615 miles south of Līhuʻe.

Lowell is expected to turn north or north-northeast Sunday, potentially bringing major hurricane conditions to Kauaʻi County Monday.

⚠️ Heavy rain, flash flooding, mudslides, damaging winds, storm surge, and life-threatening surf are possible statewide, with impacts peaking early next week.

On Sunday, Representative Matayoshi and I are sponsoring a FREE legal clinic in collaboration with the Hawaiʻi State Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division. Members of the Windward Community are invited to attend a free pop-up legal clinic on Sunday, August 30th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Windward Mall, second floor of the Target wing. Local volunteer attorneys will answer questions, offer general legal information, and provide resources on a variety of topics from family law, estate planning, and more. All volunteers are licensed to practice law in Hawaiʻi. Services provided at this clinic do NOT automatically create an attorney-client relationship with any of our volunteers.
