It was an honor to recognize 1st Sgt. Efren H. Aguilar for a lifetime of service, leadership, and mentorship. 🇺🇸🌺

After dedicating 26 years of service to the United States Army, 1st Sgt. Aguilar continued his commitment to serving others by mentoring generations of students through JROTC programs at Nānākuli Middle and High School and at his alma mater, Farrington High School.

Through his leadership and dedication, Farrington’s JROTC program earned numerous awards and accolades, including state and national titles—bringing tremendous pride to the Governors and our entire community. 🏆

What makes his legacy even more meaningful is the spirit of aloha he brings to everything he does. I remember his kindness and welcoming nature from my own high school days, and years later, that same warmth and dedication continue to shine through in the students and communities he has impacted.

On behalf of the Hawaiʻi State Legislature, mahalo, 1st Sgt. Aguilar, for your military service and for continuing to serve by inspiring, mentoring, and shaping future generations of leaders.

Congratulations on an incredible career, and wishing you a very happy and well-deserved retirement! 🎖️🌺

Following large-scale outages from Hurricane Lala, Starlink is providing free internet service to impacted Hawaiʻi customers.

Starlink will provide free internet through September 17.

No action is required for existing customers.
