Spent today speaking with three media outlets about one of the biggest issues facing Californians: affordability. We discussed the need to eliminate government waste, rein in spending, and end costly failures like the high-speed rail project. I’ll keep fighting for policies that put taxpayers first and make California more affordable.

Great to run into Senator Jean Fuller today in Sacramento. Jean and I had the opportunity to serve together in the California State Legislature during overlapping years. It was great to reconnect with a longtime colleague and fellow public servant. Always a pleasure seeing familiar faces in the Capitol.

Surfing is woven into the fabric of Southern California life, and nowhere is that spirit more alive than in Huntington Beach. It lives through the people, the community, and the culture that have made this city a global destination. Surfing fuels tourism, supports local businesses, inspires recreation, and defines the unique lifestyle that makes Huntington Beach famous around the world.

I recently had the honor of recognizing a surfing legend, along with two outstanding organizations that continue to elevate the sport and showcase why Huntington Beach proudly remains Surf City, USA.

When temperatures rise, so do our utility bills. Sacramento’s policies have driven up rates, stretching families’ budgets. With 63% of families citing the cost of gas prices and utility bills as problem in California, it’s time to put affordability first.

Team Strickland was honored to attend the grand reopening of the Boys & Girls Club of Cypress. Congratulations on the new Future Ready Lab! Local youth will gain hands-on experience exploring careers in healthcare, engineering, technology, the skilled trades, culinary arts, and more.

The Boys & Girls Club plays a vital role in our community by giving children a safe place to learn, grow, and thrive while supporting working families with quality after-school programs. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to investing in the next generation of leaders.

Pickleball is an extremely popular sport and deserves its own courts. The Tony Lam Pickleball Courts held its grand opening celebration in Westminster, and Team Strickland joined in on the fun. This is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States, with more than 24 million active players and tens of thousands of courts nationwide, including right here in Westminster.

Are you team pickleball or tennis?

Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, creating jobs, strengthening our communities, and bringing new energy and opportunity to our neighborhoods.
Congratulations to all of the new business owners! Team Strickland was honored to celebrate alongside you, and we wish you continued success for years to come.

I recently joined the Artesia Chamber of Commerce and City Council to tour several longtime businesses in Artesia that are making an impact in the local business community while also celebrating major milestones.

Artesia’s vibrant business community reflects the city’s rich cultural diversity, with locally owned businesses representing generations of entrepreneurs who contribute to the strength and character of this region. It was inspiring to hear directly from business owners about their successes, the challenges they face, and their continued commitment to serving the community. Supporting our local businesses means supporting local jobs, economic growth, and the neighborhoods that make Senate District 36 such a great place to live and work.

Let’s give a shoutout to these businesses and the amazing work they are doing to serve Artesia and the residents of Senate District 36.
