The KCDPS Paramedic Bike Team and Field Communications Unit are out assisting Citizens' Hose Company No. 1 Inc. of Smyrna, DE and Smyrna Police Department with Smyrna Night Out.

On April 5, 2026, KM-7, Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, and Camden-Wyoming Fire Company were dispatched to a cardiac arrest involving a child who was choking from a seatbelt.
Yesterday, the crews were recognized by Senator Dave Lawson for their valiant efforts to resuscitate the child. With dedication and teamwork, a positive outcome was achieved.
Excellent work to all of those involved!

If you need a place to cool off, the following cooling centers are available:

📚 All Kent County Public Library locations are also available as cooling centers during their normal operating hours.

⏰ Please Note:

• Kent County Public Library locations are available during their regularly scheduled operating hours, including weekend hours where applicable.

Heat Safety Tips:
💧 Drink plenty of water

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team and become the next generation of life-savers. This is a paid training program! You'll receive a salary and benefits while you attend an approved paramedic training program.

Applicants must possess a current National Registry EMT certification. Delaware EMT certification and Delaware residency are not required to apply. As a paramedic trainee, you'll receive comprehensive training and be part of a team that makes a real difference in the community every day.
