Located in West Dover, KM-9 is not only able to help with Dover’s heavy call volume, but also reduce response times to the western side of Kent County.

On National Dog Day, we would like to recognize our two ES K-9s that are loved department wide. Sally and Lucy are trained therapy dogs, on standby for whenever they are needed after a critical incident. Their handler, Dispatcher II Dickerson, is also a member of our department CISM team.

Knowing how to recognize cardiac arrest and start CPR before EMS arrives can make a lifesaving difference. Our crews love getting out into the community and giving residents the opportunity to learn and practice these important skills.
