Big news for Dover! 🎉 Kent County Levy Court has officially joined the City of Dover and the Downtown Dover Partnership in supporting the creation of the Greater Dover Museum — a major step toward celebrating and preserving our community’s incredible history.

Levy Court President Joanne Masten says this project will strengthen our cultural landscape and fuel the ongoing revitalization of downtown. And she’s right — Dover’s story is powerful, and it deserves a home worthy of its legacy.

Here’s what this new museum means for our community:

A permanent home for Dover’s history, including the remarkable collection curated by the Friends of Old Dover

A boost for downtown revitalization, bringing more visitors, energy, and opportunity

Expanded educational programs for students, families, and lifelong learners

A cultural anchor that highlights the resilience, innovation, and achievements of Kent County residents since 1683

The Friends of Old Dover have already laid the groundwork, and the new Greater Dover Museum, Inc. will lead the charge on fundraising, construction, and long‑term operations — with broad community representation on its proposed Board.

This is more than a museum. It’s an investment in our identity, our stories, and our future.

Congratulations to Nichole Krambeck — 2026 Delaware Rural Small Business of the Year! 🌾

Kent County proudly celebrates Ms. Nichole Krambeck, owner of Insights Ag Scouting, LLC, for being named the inaugural Delaware Rural Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration!

Nichole has become a trusted partner to farmers across the Delaware Peninsula, providing hands‑on crop scouting and field data that help growers protect their crops, boost yields, and strengthen the backbone of our agricultural community. Her deep connection to the land — and to the people who work it — reflects the true spirit of Delaware agriculture.

This honor highlights not only her business success, but the vital role small agricultural enterprises play in supporting our food supply and rural economy.

Kent County extends heartfelt congratulations to Nichole for her dedication, integrity, and passion. We’re proud to celebrate this well‑deserved achievement and look forward to her continued impact on our farming community!

👏Congratulations to our June 2026 Employee of the Month: Michael Harrington!

Kent County is proud to recognize Michael Harrington from the Department of Public Works – Engineering Division as our June Employee of the Month!

Michael has been a cornerstone of Kent County since October 1997, growing through five positions over 28 years — from Engineering Technician to his current role as Utility Construction Coordinator. His career is a masterclass in dedication, growth, and unwavering commitment to public service.

In his role today, Michael leads a team of three Engineering Technicians, coordinating daily projects with staff, contractors, and State agencies. He conducts inspections of sanitary sewer connections, force mains, pump stations, and gravity lines — all essential work that keeps Kent County’s infrastructure running safely and efficiently.

Michael’s deep knowledge of the sanitary sewer system has earned him strong partnerships with DelDOT and local developers. His professionalism, problem‑solving skills, and willingness to share his expertise make him a trusted resource across the entire Engineering Division.

Director of Public Works, Sam Bautista, shared it best:
“Mike is dedicated to the people of Kent County and is personified in his strong work ethic. We congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition and thank him for his continued commitment and outstanding service to the residents of Kent County.”

Please join us in celebrating Michael for his leadership, teamwork, and decades of outstanding service. Kent County is a better place because of employees like him! 👏
