Mayor Genrich joined leaders from the Oneida Nation, city officials, and members of the Ted Fritsch Park Neighborhood Association on Friday afternoon to officially break ground on the new splashpad at Ted Fritsch Park.
This project represents a strong partnership between the City of Green Bay and the Oneida Nation to bring modern, interactive recreational amenities to the west side. Located directly east of the existing playground, the splashpad project also includes important stormwater management upgrades to improve drainage and site conditions across the park.
Special thanks to Oneida Nation Chairman Tehassi Hill, Parks Director Dan Ditscheit, Alder Kathy Hinkfuss, and Ted Fritsch Park Neighborhood Association President Randy Griswold for speaking at the ceremony, as well as the many neighborhood families who stayed to celebrate at the annual Back to School event.
Construction begins this fall, with the splashpad scheduled to open for public enjoyment next summer.
