Mayor Genrich joined BAVA Gallery founding members and On Broadway, Inc. earlier today for the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the BAVA Gallery Cooperative at 413 Dousman Street in Green Bay's historic Broadway District.

Supported in part by a $2,500 renovation grant from On Broadway, Inc., the artist-owned cooperative features 100 percent handmade local art. Visitors can browse wall art, sculpture, ceramics, home decor, and handcrafted gifts while connecting directly with the regional artists staffing the space.

Mayor Genrich joined municipal leaders and project partners today to break ground on Phase II of the Shipyard redevelopment in the City's Broadway District.

Supported by a 7.15 million dollar National Park Service grant, the 14.3 million dollar investment transforms a former brownfield into a vibrant waterfront gathering space—complete with an urban beach, splash pad, dog park, and riverfront container bar. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2027. We can't wait to see you there!

This morning, Mayor Genrich joined owner Norah Grajeda to celebrate the official ribbon-cutting of Mi Favorita Supermarket’s second location at 1125 West Mason Street.

City officials were proud to stand alongside state and local leaders, including State Senator Jamie Wall and Green Bay Alders Jim Ridderbush and Ben DeBaker, to mark this exciting expansion.

Surrounded by family, friends, team members, and community supporters, the ribbon was cut on a vibrant new commercial hub for the west side. The newly renovated store offers an expanded footprint with a full bakery, meat department, deli, specialty produce, and dedicated community space.

The City of Green Bay congratulates Norah and her entire team on this milestone and looks forward to their continued success serving residents across our community.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. On this National Day of Service and Remembrance, the Mayor's Office joins our community in honoring the memory of the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost.

We hold in our hearts the families whose lives were forever changed, and we express profound gratitude for the selfless sacrifice of the first responders, emergency personnel, and service members who answered the call of duty.

In solemn tribute to those lost and in lasting remembrance of our nation's resilience, our downtown bridges will be lit in red, white, and blue tonight, September 11th.

Today, September 10th, is World Su***de Prevention Day, observed during Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. This day is a chance to break down stigma, talk openly about mental health, and remind everyone in our community that support is always within reach.

Tonight, downtown bridges will be lit in teal and purple in honor of this month and in solidarity with everyone it touches. Every life matters, and no one has to face these challenges alone.

On Saturday, September 12th, join a day of service honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and celebrating America250. Grab your gloves and help clear invasive woody species to make way for a brand-new nature trail — and watch the debris get a second life as biochar that'll fuel future tree plantings across the city. Mayor Genrich joined new Superintendent Dr. Michael Hernandez, school staff, and community members at Danz Elementary School this morning to greet students and families on their first day of the school year.

A successful school year relies on the dedication of our educators, administrators, support staff, and school workers who show up every single day to guide and support our children. Green Bay is deeply grateful for their hard work and commitment to shaping a bright future for our youth.

Thank you to the Green Bay Area Public School District, Superintendent Hernandez, and the team at Danz Elementary for hosting the morning welcome. Wishing all Green Bay students, teachers, and families a safe, engaging, and successful school year ahead.

Last night was a big night of progress for Green Bay!

Among other items, Mayor Genrich and the Common Council approved five exciting community updates that'll bring great improvements across the city.

Phase 2 of the Shipyard project is officially moving ahead with builder 8PINE Inc. A $750,000 grant match unlocks outside funding for a brand-new splash pad, dog park, playground, and event lawn along the river.

The Cityl declared a public emergency at Fire Station 3 to speed up flood repairs on Shawano Avenue. It's a quick step that cuts red tape so crews can fix the building while firefighters keep protecting the area from nearby stations.

Over at Bay Beach Amusement Park, a $1.5 million gift from the Friends of Bay Beach is paying off park debt early. That's freeing up park cash for critical fixes, starting with $120,000 for new train tracks.

City parks are getting a delicious update too. A new foraging rule now lets residents gather edible berries, fruits, nuts, and seeds in local parks.

Finally, Beaver Dam Park was officially renamed MacArthur Family Park. It's keeping local memories alive as MacArthur Elementary gets torn down, while honoring Civil War hero Arthur MacArthur and General Douglas MacArthur.

It's an exciting time for Green Bay, and there's so much good work happening across the city!
