The Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Adm. Daryl Caudle and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy John Perryman visited U.S. 4th Fleet headquarters at Naval Station Mayport to tour operational spaces and engage directly with Sailors on the deckplates.

From maritime security to regional partnerships, our forward-deployed forces in the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) area of operations remain mission-ready every day.

From Aug. 3-12, U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet alongside 18 partner nations successfully completed the Combined Force Maritime Component Command (CFMCC) portion of the annual exercise.

Operating across multiple locations, more than 150 multinational personnel tackled complex maritime scenarios designed to defend the Panama Canal. This critical training helps forge strong cooperative partnerships, promotes a shared understanding of threats, and ensures our collective capacity to maintain regional peace and the free flow of commerce.

⚓️ WELCOME HOME, THOMAS HUDNER! ⚓️

Rear Adm. Carlos Sardiello, commander of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet, welcomed the crew of USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116) back to Naval Station Mayport after a nearly nine-month deployment across the U.S. 4th, 5th, and 6th Fleets.

The admiral joined families and loved ones in celebrating the return of these warfighters who lived up to their ship’s motto, Above All Others.

Proud of every Sailor who answered the call. Welcome Home to the crew of the Thomas Hudner!

has reached its halfway point, with 19 partner nations training together to strengthen interoperability and collective readiness. From maritime and cyber operations to medical readiness and special operations training, participants are enhancing their ability to safeguard the Panama Canal and maintain security and stability throughout the Western Hemisphere.

More than 150 Sailors, Marines, and public security forces from 19 separate nations will serve on the CFMCC staff under the leadership of Rear Admiral Carlos Sardiello, Commander .

Unwavering commitment to disaster relief.

On Thursday, the amphibious transport dock USS San Antonio (LPD 17) arrived pierside in La Guaira, Venezuela. The ship and her crew have officially relieved the USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28), taking over as the primary maritime hub for ongoing humanitarian operations.

Following the devastating June 24 earthquakes, USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28) and USS Billings (LCS 15) immediately redirected to Venezuela to deliver rapid disaster relief.

Aiding in search & rescue from the sea, operating command & control, and delivering critical cargo, our Sailors & Marines are standing by our regional partners.
