✨It was a great moment for Czech Finnish relations to welcome former Ambassador Adam Vojtěch to the Embassy premises in his current capacity as Minister of Health, as part of his four-day working visit to Finland leading a business delegation of top Czech medtech and healthtech companies.

It was a great pleasure to witness once again the warm reception he received and to see how much Finnish stakeholders appreciated his efforts in strengthening Czech Finnish partnerships.

🏥The programme was exceptionally busy. We visited and discussed opportunities for cooperation with Finnish healthcare and social services providers, both public and private. Among the public institutions were Kuopio University Hospital, where we visited a hearing laboratory (see photo), Helsinki University Hospital, and the Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland.
Private-sector partners included Mehiläinen, Terveystalo, and Attendo.

🔬We also met with representatives of leading research and educational institutions, including the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Helsinki, Aalto University, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, and Laurea University of Applied Sciences.

👩‍⚕️In addition, we engaged with numerous medtech companies, ecosystems, and alliances, including Optomed, Planmed, Medbase, and Health Capital Helsinki, to name just a few.

🎶✨Alongside this intensive programme, the Minister of Health also met with his Finnish counterpart, Minister Wille Rydman and attended the phenomenal concert of the Czech Philharmonic. The orchestra performed in Finland for the first time in 51 years, thanks to the strong commitment of the then Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Finland.

🌠Finally, our sincere thanks go to the Alliance for Telemedicine and Digitalization of Healthcare and Social Services, which brought cutting-edge technology companies, such as Linet, MEDDI hub, KardiAI, AGEL, EUC, Eye Center Prague, Clementas, Infini One and B. Braun Medical to Finland to showcase their expertise and innovative solutions to Finnish partners.

Thank you for another extraordinary evening with the Czech Philharmonic. 🎼

On Saturday, audiences were treated to a remarkable performance under the baton of Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov, featuring pianist Yunchan Lim and culminating in Smetana’s magnificent Má vlast.

We are grateful for this unforgettable musical experience and look forward to welcoming the orchestra again in 🇫🇮 in the future.

A great Friday evening with the Czech Philharmonic in Helsinki!

Under the baton of Semyon Bychkov, the orchestra gave a wonderful performance featuring Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto with acclaimed violinist Karen Gomyo, followed by Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7.

Many thanks to the Czech Philharmonic and all the artists for a truly memorable evening. It was wonderful to welcome the orchestra back to Helsinki after more than 50 years. 🎶

Reminder: it’s happening this weekend! 🎶

After 51 years, the Czech Philharmonic returns to Helsinki for two concerts at Musiikkitalo as part of the Helsinki Festival.

📅 Friday, 28 August, 7 pm
Semyon Bychkov conducts Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto with acclaimed violinist Karen Gomyo, followed by Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7.
📻 The concert will be broadcasted live on Yle Radio 1.

📅 Saturday, 29 August, 7 pm
The orchestra will be joined by Yunchan Lim, the South Korean pianist and youngest-ever winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, performing Ravel’s Piano Concerto. The evening concludes with Smetana’s iconic Má vlast (My Homeland).

Huomio: muutos konserttiohjelmassa! Valitettavasti Janine Jansenin esiintyminen Tšekin filharmonisen orkesterin solistina konsertissa 28.8. peruuntuu terveyssyistä.

Jansenin tilalla konsertin solistina nähdään japanilais-kanadalainen huippuviulisti Karen Gomyo. Gomyo tunnetaan virtuoottisena tulkitsijana niin klassisen kuin nykymusiikin parissa. Hän on esittänyt konsertissa kuultavaa Šostakovitšin viulukonserttoa usein ylikapellimestari Semjon Bytškovin johdolla – viimeksi tänä kesänä The Cleveland Orchestran solistina haltioituneille yleisöille.

Attention: change in the concert programme! Unfortunately, Janine Jansen’s appearance as a soloist with the Czech Philharmonic in the concert on August 28 has been cancelled due to health reasons.

Top Japanese-Canadian violinist Karen Gomyo will step in as the soloist for the concert. Gomyo is known as a virtuoso performer of both classical and contemporary music. She has frequently performed Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto, featured in this concert, under Chief Conductor and Music Director Semyon Bychkov – most recently this summer as soloist with The Cleveland Orchestra to thrilled audiences.

Today we commemorate the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the 1968 Invasion and the subsequent occupation by Warsaw Pact troops. This day is dedicated to the memory of all those whose lives were tragically marked by the events of August 1968. We will not forget. 🕊️

Volby do třetiny Senátu Parlamentu ČR se budou konat ve dnech 9. - 10. října 2026, s případným druhým kolem ve dnech 16. - 17. října 2026. Hlasování do Senátu probíhá pouze ve volebních obvodech na území České republiky. V zahraničí hlasování probíhat nebude, a to ani korespondenčně.

Ve dnech 9. a 10. října 2026 proběhnou též volby do zastupitelstev obcí a zastupitelstev městských obvodů a městských částí ve statutárních městech a do zastupitelstva hlavního města Prahy a zastupitelstev jeho městských částí.
